Obituary

Rose Santomenna, 93, of Brick passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Willow Springs Nursing Home in Brick. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was forever devoted to her family and always taught the value of prayer. Rose will always be remembered for to her delicious food, especially her huge Christmas Eve dinner table. She was loved by all who knew her gentle ways.
Born in Union City and was a faithful catholic at St Anthony’s RC Church, she raised her family in North Bergen before moving to Brick 18 years ago where she continued her faith at St. Dominic’s RC Church.
Rose was predeceased by her loving husband, James Santomenna in 2003; parents, Nicola and Josephine Nicoliello; brother, Dominick Nicoliello; and by her sister, Domenica Nicoliello.
Surviving are her sons, James Santomenna and his wife, Diane of Massapequa, NY and Dr. Mark Santomenna and his wife, Anne of Howell; brother, Vincent Nicoliello of Brick; 4 grandchildren, Dustin Santomenna and his wife, Noressa, Dana Thomson and her husband, Michael, Julia Santomenna and Sara Santomenna; and 5 great grandchildren, Mia, Emma, Evan, Ryan, and Reese. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends considered family.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10am on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick. Committal prayers will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
