Obituary for Rita M Brennan (Bernard)

Rita M. Brennan, 87, of Brick, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Orange to Harold & Margaret Bernard, Rita and her husband Gerald resided in the Oranges before retiring to Brick 17 years ago. Rita was the epitome of “matriarch” and will be fondly remembered for celebrating every holiday with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Rita was predeceased by her parents, as well as her loved sister Catherine. She leaves her devoted husband of 65 years, Gerald; four daughters – Carolyn Benjamin, Rita Neil, Patricia Brennan, and Kathy Nesset; and her dear grandchildren – Katie Benjamin, Carolyn Dotterweich, and Jeff (& Lidka) Dotterweich.
Visitation will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Thursday from 4-7pm, with a service to be held at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Meridian Hospice, 1345 Campus Parkway – Suite A, Neptune, NJ 07753.
