Roger was a wonderful friend, and great conversationalist. I will miss your funny joke and are conversations about all are friends from the past. You were so wonderful to me when I moved here 40 years ago and I will be so ever grateful for our friendship. You will be dearly missed Roger. My sincere condolences to the Rouvell family.

Uncle Roger was a very special person. A lot of what I know about Uncle Roger was passed to me in the form of memories and old stories, but I too have my own memories of him. I remember one day at Grammie and Pop Pop’s house in Medford, Courtney and I were listening to music by the pool. The music was rap - something we both “dabbled” in for a short time! Uncle Roger came right over and started DANCING to the rap music with us! Of course his moves were different from ours. I can still see him: arms out straight in front of him, his wrists and hands twisting and turning to the beat. Uncle Roger had a silly and sweet side. He was also very witty and smart. He will be missed greatly but he will live on in the stories we share and in the hearts of those who love him.

Dear Aunt Terri,

Valerie and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Please know we are here for you through this most difficult time and will always be close Family together.

Uncle Roger was a special Man in many ways, we will always remember his wit and deep love for Family and close Friends. Holidays together were a source of fun and great memories. The times and interaction he had with all of us was always fun and loving.

A Brother Coast Guardsman, we spoke every year on Memorial Day and Veterans Day about our time in service. It was a blessing to have such a connection. I learned of his service on convoy duty in the North Atlantic, and still wonder if he ever sailed with my Dads older brother Mervin, who was a Merchant Marine office also in the North Atlantic convoys during WW II.

I loved his at times dry sense of humor. Sometimes, I thought I was the only one who got his fun pokes, we exchanged many a private look when the punchline was often missed by others. A wry smile, sometimes a chuckle. Always fun. He and Dad Hanna had many moments of joke telling and long discussions within their common love of music and classic movies. I remember my excitement when I learned that my working with BMG and hence Ricordi Music would introduce me to several classical composers, Puccini and Verde, that he knew so well. We talked of their works, he knew it intimately.

Valerie too has so many great memories of times spent together while she was growing up through teen years as a Family confidant (he was so easy to talk with) through close times spent together visiting our home while her Mom was living with us.

Aunt Terri, we love you and are thankful for the impact you had on Uncle Roger later in his life. Really......Uncle Roger dressed up as a hippie peace freak for Halloween? I never would have believed it had I not seen it. Losing Aunt Joan was devastating to us all, but especially to Uncle Roger. You helped heal him more than you could ever imagine. You are Family.

We will always miss him and hopefully tell stories forever.

Kathy & I had the pleasure of being friends with Roger for the last several years. I was impressed with his service as an FBI Agent, and enjoyed the stories from his career. Roger was always sharp as a tack and had an incredible insight into the financial markets, something else that I was very impressed with. We always enjoyed the time we spent with Roger and Terri, and Roger always had a great story to tell, and kept us in laughs. He will forever be in our hearts.
