Obituary for Mario DeSalvo
Mario DeSalvo, age 86, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home in Brick. Born in Elizabeth, Mario has resided in Brick for the last 23 years.
Mr. DeSalvo worked for many years as a bricklayer with Local #4 in Linden.
Mario was a communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick.
Mario was a member of the Traveling Bacci Team, Greenbriar 1, Brick, NJ. He loved and was so proud of his family and enjoyed family and friend gatherings always. He was a good friend to many and always ready to lend a helping hand when he was able to.
He is predeceased by his mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Ross DeSalvo; brother, Robert DeSalvo.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Kathryn; his children, Lisa Garon and her husband Michael, Ross DeSalvo, Mario DeSalvo, Jr., Jeffrey DeSalvo and Gregory DeSalvo;, his 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Barbara and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, August 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick followed by the entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
The Family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Hospice with RWJ Barnabas Health or Department of Veterans Affairs, 151 Knollcroft Road, Lyons, NJ 07939.
