Obituary for Margaret Mary "Peggy" Ruddy

On Saturday, August 10, 2019 Margaret Mary “Peggy” Ruddy passed into God’s loving and eternal care at her home in Spring Lake, New Jersey. Peggy was born February 3, 1929 in Hoboken, NJ to Margaret and Leon Ruddy. She was laid to rest beside her parents at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
Peggy earned her Master’s degree from Georgian Court College and worked in the field of education as a Learning Disabilities Teacher. She lovingly cared for many in her family, community and church throughout her life.
Peggy was a remarkable woman of intelligence, generosity and kindness while ever humble and simple in her ways. Of primary importance was her total devotion to God and the Catholic Church. She was truly a living example of a faithful servant of the Lord. Over the years Peggy resided in Asbury Park, Lakewood, Wall Twp. and Avon before finally settling into her most adored Borough of Spring Lake. Throughout her life Peg was active and loved to take long walks. During her final decade she truly cherished living by the seaside and socializing with her friends and neighbors.
Peggy was preceded in death by her brothers William Ruddy, Daniel Ruddy and sister, Virginia Croly. Her seven nieces and nephews and their families will dearly miss her kind thoughtful heart and beautiful smile.
All are invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St Catharine Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ.
