Obituary for Margaret Flynn (McCloskey)
Margaret Flynn (nee McCloskey), 90, of Avendelle Assisted Living in Rollinsville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was born in Derry, Northern Ireland. She was happily married to Daniel J. Flynn for 40 years until his passing in June, 1999. She raised her 5 children in Woodside, NY. She was a talented seamstress who worked in the New York fashion industry for over 30 years. Margaret was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking, baking and traveling with family.
She is survived by her 5 children: Mary Monaco, Ann Madden, John Flynn, Madeline Terrett and Michael Flynn; and 7 grandchildren: Danielle and Anna Monaco, David and Sean Terrett, Kerry and Laura Flynn, and Evan Madden, and 1 great grandchild Emma Arnold. Margaret will be missed by many.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Thursday, June 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose RC Church in Belmar. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery, Arneytown. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
