Obituary for Joseph Maggio III

Joseph Maggio, III, 83, of Brick passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mr. Maggio worked at Stop & Shop in Point Pleasant. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1960 -1962. He was a faithful communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. Joe enjoyed fishing and crabbing at the Jersey Shore and loved cruise vacations throughout the world.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Brick 47 years ago.

Mr. Maggio was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna Maggio.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Janice (LaMantia) Maggio; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Joseph and Patricia Maggio, Kenneth and Doreen Maggio, Todd and Lisa Maggio and Jason and Tara Maggio; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Natalie Maggio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne and Sebastian Lentini; 8 grandchildren, Sage and his wife, Emily, Alexandria, Jagger, Daniella, Elise, Rhianna, Nicholas and Miley; and 2 great grandchildren, Blayke and Silas.

Visiting will be on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am on Friday, September 13, 2019 at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick. Burial and military honors will follow at 12 noon in the chapel at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
