Obituary for Alfred J. Scerbo

Alfred J. Scerbo 79, of Wall died peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Al moved to Wall in 1978. He was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church, Jersey City and St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt. He began his career at Mazda Motors, but spent his life’s work in all facets of construction, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. “Big Al” enjoyed fishing, boating, crabbing, and painting. He especially cherished spending time with his family at Sunday dinners, numerous vacations to Disney World and cruises. He was genuine, hard-working and a loving person; the best husband, father, and grandpa anyone could ever ask for.
He is predeceased by his parents and ten siblings. Surviving is his beloved wife of 56 years, Gabrielle (King) Scerbo, three children; Justine Hamill and her husband Carl, Brian W. Scerbo and his wife Jean, Jane M. Esdaile, a sister Jenny Bolles, a brother Vincent Scerbo, eight grandchildren; Shante’, Carlo, Vincent, Anthony, Erica, Michael, Tiffany and Luke. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting will be Friday, March 22, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Service will be at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
